At Sikh Tours, we have the most sought-after travel itineraries for Panj Takht Yatra. Pilgrims can travel to these 5 Takhts with our Panj Takht Tour Packages as per their choice.

Takht or Takhat, which literally means throne or seat of power, is a relic of the Sikh religion. The five spiritual places or Takhts of the Khalsa are the five gurudwaras that signify special significance, the first and most important of which is the Akal Takht near the Sri Harmandir Sahib (golden temple) among the other four scattered throughout the country.

The tour will cover all Takhts located in different places in India. The Panj Takht Tour covers the Sikh Panj Takhts and important Gurdwaras of India including Delhi Gurudwara, Golden Temple, Sri Akal Takht, Taran Taran Sahib, Goindwal Sahib, Takht Damdama Sahib, Takht Anandpur Sahib, Takht Patna Sahib, Takht Sri Hazur (or Hazoor) Sahib, Gurudwara Nanak Jhira, Bidar.

The following Gurdwaras or the 5 Takhts hold special significance in the Sikh community:

  • Sri Akal Takht Sahib (Amritsar)

  • Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Bathinda)

  • Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib (Rupnagar)

  • Takht Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded)

  • Takht Sri Patna Sahib (Patna)

The three Takhts are in Punjab - Akal Takht in Amritsar, Sri Keshgarh Sahib in Anandpur (Rupnagar or Ropar) and Sri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo Bathinda district.

The other two of the five Takhts are located outside Punjab and are Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Gurudwara at Nanded and Takht Sri Patna Sahib Gurudwara in Patna.

So, if you are starting from Amritsar, one of these packages’ travel itineraries offered by your Best Tour and Travel Company in India, is as follows:

Sri Harmandir Sahib is the heritage of the Sikh people, collected over its five hundred years of history. The huge pool of water surrounding the Golden Temple also gave its name to Amritsar, which means the sacred elixir pool.

Akal Takht is supreme because it is the oldest and was created by the same Sikh guru, say Sikh historians and scholars. Akal Takht was founded by Guru Hargobind on June 15, 1606, and was established as a place from which to solve the spiritual and temporal problems of the Sikh community. The Akal Takht was built slightly lower than the Harmandir Sahib, implying the order of importance that the pursuit of spiritual grace must always guide. The Throne of the Immortal or Eternal was installed first among the five thrones by Guru Hargobind Sahib in 1606 near the Harmandir Sahib, in the Golden Temple complex, the site of the highest representative of the Sikh community.
